The American High School Diploma (AHSD) at Pi Education is a structured, four-year secondary education program (Grades 9–12) that culminates in a U.S.-style high school diploma. This qualification is accepted as equivalent to an NQF Level 4 in South Africa and is recognized by universities and colleges worldwide.

The Traditional High School Track (23/24 Credits)

To earn the AHSD, students follow our Traditional High School Track, completing a minimum of 23 credits across required subject areas.

Recognition & Equivalency

In South Africa

The AHSD from Pi Education is recognized as equivalent to the South African National Senior Certificate (NSC) at NQF Level 4.

Graduates must apply for a Certificate of Foreign Exemption through Universities South Africa (USAf) to qualify for admission to South African universities. We provide guidance and documentation support throughout this process.

How to Earn Your Diploma

No—it is a different educational system with its own rigors. The AHSD emphasizes continuous assessment, critical thinking, and broad subject exposure, and is recognized as academically equivalent to the NSC.

Yes. After obtaining your AHSD, you must apply for a Certificate of Foreign Exemption from Universities South Africa (USAf). With this certificate, you are eligible to apply to any South African university.

Students who do not complete the full diploma requirements may be eligible for a High School Certificate or may transition into our GED Program to obtain an equivalent qualification.
